An man caught urinating in front of horrified town centre shoppers has been fined £265.
Jaroslaw Reszyczynski, from Eton Road, Ilford, was hit with a fine of £150 and costs of £85 by Barkingside Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to urinating in public in breach of a public spaces protection order (PSPO).
A victim surcharge of £30 was also imposed after the council successfully prosecuted the man.
The court heard how 36-year-old Reszyczynski was caught in broad daylight, by a Redbridge Enforcement Officer, urinating standing facing a wall in an alleyway between high street shops in Ilford.
He was sentenced before the magistrates court after failing to pay his original Fixed Penalty Notice issued by the enforcement officer at the time of the offence.
Council Leader Cllr Jas Athwal said: “Urinating in public is indecent, unhygienic and unacceptable. We won’t tolerate this kind behaviour and neither will our residents who follow the rules.
“Our message is very clear: We are working very hard to keep our town centres safe and pleasant places to visit and we will continue to take tough action against people who selfishly spoil our streets for everyone else.”
