An entertainment venue has been ordered to cease operating by the end of the year.
Council licensing officials instructed those running The Mayfair, a banqueting suite in Chadwell Heath, to stop trading by December 2018 after it failed to obtain the correct planning permission.
Owners of the venue were hiring out the property for events and parties, but had not obtained the correct permission from the council to do so.
The banqueting suite will close its doors after the owners lost an appeal against a council enforcement notice earlier this year.
The planning inspectorate has instructed the venue, on the High Road, to cease operations by December 17 2019, or face prosecution.
Planning permission for a change of use from a bingo hall to banqueting hall and conference centre was refused in September 2017.
