THE death of a pensioner in Rhyl is no longer being treated as suspcious. 

Police have released a 51 year old woman, held in connection with the incident, after a body was found at an address on Tynewydd Road at about 5.30am on Tuesday, July 16.

The death of the man, 71, is now being dealt with by the Coroner's office.

A spokesperson for Police said: "Police investigating the death of a 71 year old man at an address in Tynewydd Road, Rhyl earlier today are no longer treating the circumstances as suspicious.

"A 59 year old woman has been released from police custody with no further action."

Supt Jason Devonport of North Wales Police said: “The next of kin have been informed and an investigation is now underway. This is an isolated incident and we do not have intelligence to suggest it will impact the wider community."

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance service said: "We were called on Tuesday 16 July at approximately 5.24am to reports of a person needing medical assistance in Rhyl.

"We responded with two rapid response vehicles. For more information, please contact the Police service.”
