Police have made an arrest in relation to an incident where abuse was hurled at Pride supporters.
A 38-year-old woman has been arrested, Waltham Forest Police tweeted at about 4.54pm today (Monday, July 29).
She has been taken into custody at a north London police station.
Videos posted on social media show a woman wearing a niqab shouting at people taking part in the first-ever Waltham Forest Pride event on Saturday (July 27).
Police tweeted this afternoon: "Officers investigating footage circulating on social media of abuse directed at those taking part in a Pride event in Waltham Forest have arrested a 38-year-old woman under section 4a of the Public Order Act. She has been taken into custody at a north London police station."
