Will Podmore’s latest tirade against The European Union implies that its structure is undemocratic.
He fails to mention that if Britain were to remain, we would have representation in the European Commission equal to that of other European Countries; representation in the Council of Ministers would be equal to that of other European Countries; and our representation in the European Parliament would be like that of other European Countries, proportionate to the population.
In Britain we have just experienced the effective election of a Prime Minister by 0.14 per cent of the population (That’s one person in 714.). We also have a head of state who is never elected!
Where’s the democracy there?
