People in a Leytonstone street will once again be getting together for an end of summer street party.

Taking place on Sunday, September 8 at Central Avenue, Leytonstone, the event aims to bring the community together for free food and drinks, music and a variety of games and activities.

The event was attended by 500 people last year and organisers are hoping this year the street party will be even bigger.

The event is organised and funded by The Oases Foundation International through the support of its members – so entry, food and activities are all free.

This year it will also feature a visit from Waltham Forest's Mayor and the Waltham Forest London Fire Brigade to raise fire prevention awareness, along with activities such as a rodeo bull game, gladiator duel, bouncy castle, play pen for children, fun casino, table tennis, face painting and more.

The event started back in 2012 when The Oases Foundation International sponsored a street party for the local community to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The event proved so successful that it was decided to make it a regular event.

The street party is set for September 8, and the location will be Central Avenue, Junction 180 Grove Green Road, E11 4EN, from 2pm to 7pm, and entry is free.
