A former special constable who fraudulently obtained almost £9,000 has been jailed.
Moshin Nadeem, 27, of Babbacombe Gardens, Ilford, was sentenced to a four-month imprisonment, suspended for 18 months at Southwark Crown Court on 14 August after he pleaded guilty to a charge of fraud by abuse of position.
Nadeem must also complete 150 hours' unpaid work and a 10-day rehabilitation activity.
An investigation by the Serious Crime Unit found that Nadeem, formerly a Metropolitan Police Special Constable, defrauded his old place of work, a large department store chain, of approximately £8,919.73 in a three month period, between June and November 2017.
A gross misconduct review will now be carried out by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS).
Nadeem resigned on 14 September 2018.
