The two people found death in a house at Ilford are believed to have been identified.
Rahul Malhi, 43, from Redbridge and a 31-year-old woman were both found dead at a house on The Drive, Ilford, on August 29 at 12:57pm following police being called to reports of an injured person.
Mr Malhi was found with wrist and neck injuries inside the house, a post-mortem examination carried out on September 2 found he had suffered a significant injury to his next, but further examination is required to ascertain the exact circumstances of his death.
The woman was found dead in the garden of the premises, with serious neck injuries. Although formal identification has not taken place, officers are confident that she is 31-year-old Laura Rakstelyte.
Her family have been informed and are being supported by Met family liaison officers.
Ms Rakstelyte was living at The Drive but was originally from Lithuania. Both parties are believed to have known each other.
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death for the woman as stab wounds to the neck and chest.
No arrests have been made and no other parties are currently being sought in connection with the matter. Enquires continue.
