A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman.

Gavin Shane Carl Lewis, 40, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Tuesday, September 3, charged with the murder of Sandra Samuels on Thursday, September 5.

Ms Samuels was found dead in Hackney on Saturday, August 31.

Lewis has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, September 9.

The two were known to each other.
