A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 29-year-old man in Edmonton.

Julio Gomes was fatally stabbed in Houndsfield Road near the Old Edmontonians FC clubhouse around 8.10pm last Saturday (September 14).

Lucas Siemienowicz, 39, of Croyland Road, Edmonton, was charged with murder and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place in the early hours of Tuesday, September 17,

He is due to appear later this morning at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine, who is leading the investigation, said: “We continue to appeal for information following Julio’s death and need anyone who was present at an event at the Old Edmontonians FC clubhouse that evening to come forward.

“The incident is not believed to be connected to the event, or the clubhouse, but would have been seen by a number of people.”
