A man has been confirmed dead after being found in the middle of the A13.
Metropolitan Police officers were called at 3.50am on Sunday, September 15, to reports of a man seriously injured on the Westbound carriageway in Dagenham.
No vehicle had stopped at the scene.
The carriageway remained closed for over six hours while emergency services including the London Ambulance attend the scene.
Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was placed into custody at an east London police station.
The incident caused severe delays on the A13, Ripple Road was shut including the Lodge Avenue Flyover and Goresbrook Interchange.
