The owner of a Bucks pub has paid tribute to his "remarkable" former head chef who sadly died in a motorbike crash at the weekend.

David Perron worked at the Royal Standard of England in Forty Green for 10 years. He passed away aged 49 on Sunday, September 15.

In an emotional tribute, Matthew O'Keeffe, owner of the pub, said he was "without a doubt the best chef we have ever had" in the 15 years they have owned it.

He said: "David was passionate and cared for his team. He always had time to teach a novice and even more experienced chefs how to be a better in the kitchen.

"David had a great foundation knowledge learning in the kitchens of  France. We were lucky on the day he came to work for us for over 10 years.

"There was nothing he couldn't do in the kitchen, a truly remarkable chef.

"We miss his food. We miss his humour. We miss him.

"Bon Voyage mon ami."

David, who was born and learned his trade in France, was riding his blue Kawasaki ZX600 motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with a silver Ford Transit van on the A4130 in Bix at about 1pm on Sunday.
