A man who arrested in the connection of a car crash which two people died has been given bail.

The 21-year-old from Loughton, appeared was arrested at the scene of the crash on Goldings Hill, Loughton, suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He had been bailed by police until Friday, September 20, after being released from hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The man was also arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

The incident resulted in the deaths of former Roding Valley High School students Max Halcrow, 21, and Sophia Khan, 16 on Saturday, August 24.

The funeral of Mr Halcrow, who was also a footballer for Debden Park FC, was held at City of London Crematorium in Manor Park on Wednesday, September 18.

A 16-year-old girl from Woodford and a 17-year-old girl from Chingford who were also passengers in the vehicle were both seriously injured.

The 21-year-old man has been rebailed until Sunday, November 23.
