When are Three Rivers Council going to stop bleating about what they cannot do as regards the terrible shortage of social housing and actually do something about it?
I refer to the council leaders’ latest whinge about this (Housing target is too high for area, Watford Observer, October 4).

The land is there, such as Waring Fields in Stag Lane, Chorleywood that was ‘gifted’ to the council years ago.
Chorleywood is full of large private housing that gets planning permission at the drop of a hat and is being built all the time, one house is demolished and two built in its place. At least the much maligned Watford Borough Council has a housing plan even if it does extend into the future years.
