After our authority spending millions of pounds for cyclist and cycle lanes, I am disappointed to see that cyclists still use the road and not the cycle lanes.
Over the past few weeks at Whipps Cross I have seen groups of cyclists cycling towards the water works roundabout from Leabridge Road avoiding the cycle lanes and using the road instead. Today I have driven from the Billet to Blackhorse Road and again cyclists are using the road instead of the cycle lanes. Why?
These lanes have been installed at great expense and lots of upheaval. Shouldn't these cyclists be fined for not using the lanes. Is it not about time that cyclists are made to pay like other road users?
