Eight people have been arrested by detectives investigating the death of a homeless man found by an Ilford footpath earlier this month.

The body of Vladislavs Radionovs, 57, a Latvian national of no fixed address, was discovered in Aldborough Hatch Farm, a footpath off Oaks Lane, at about 6am on Saturday, November 2.

A post-mortem examination held at East Ham Mortuary found the cause of death to be a head injury.

On November 10, six men and one woman, aged between 26 and 48, were arrested on suspicion of murder after a warrant was executed at an address in Ilford.

They have all been released on bail until a date in early December.

Linas Gasiunas, 36, of no fixed abode was arrested on November 12 by detectives investigating the case.

He was charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and theft of a mobile phone.

He appeared at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on November 13 and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 11.
