Christmas Lights Switch On

Thousands of lights will transform the entire town centre into a magical winter wonderland before your eyes. Expect entertainment, refreshments, live music and all the fun of the fair as families unite to welcome in the festive season. The event finale is a stunning fireworks display.

New Hope Charity Concert

Come along to this charity concert in aid of Watford New Hope. Coffee and cake will be served during the intermission. The programme will include classical music for cello, violin and piano in the first half: Bach, Vivaldi, Brahms and Liszt. In the second half a selection of folk songs, dances and old French and Italian tunes will be performed by the Watford Plectra Orchestra.

Watford Symphony Orchestra

Octagon Music Society

Jamal Aliyev made his solo BBC Proms debut in 2017 playing the music of John Williams. Highlights of the last season include solo performances with Philharmonia Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall and at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. The programme includes music by Beethoven and Rachmaninov.

Hogwarts in the Snow

Experience Christmas in the Wizarding World as Hogwarts in the Snow returns to the Studio Tour. The festive transformation will begin in the Great Hall, which will be lined with Christmas trees decked with golden baubles and topped with witches on miniature broomsticks. The long dining tables will be dressed as they were for seasonal feasts at Hogwarts, complete with Christmas puddings surrounded by real flames. Discover how filmmakers created snow that never melts and flames without fire as you get hands-on with the different types of filmmaking ‘snow’. The Hogwarts castle will be transformed as the breath-taking model is covered with a layer of filmmaking snow.

The Rebellion take on The Hit Set, The Crimson Bear takes on Disco Diablo Bruno Brown, and Mark Trew faces Watford's own El Nino. Plus the over the top rope rumble.
