London Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of a fire at a flat in Wanstead.
Fire crews were called to the fire at a flat in Redbridge Lane West in Wanstead, yesterday at 2.38pm (Sunday, November 24).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended the scene where half of a flat on the first floor was damaged by fire.
A man and a woman had escaped the property before the brigade arrived.
Crews from Leytonstone, Leyton, Ilford and Walthamstow fire stations had the fire under control by 4.12pm.
