Over 600 primary school pupils were treated to a Christmas pantomime show created by students from New City College Epping Forest.

Entitled ‘Santa’s Lost his Reindeer’, the UAL Level 3 Performing Arts students, working as New Vision Theatre company, created their own version and performed in the college theatre.

Over primary schools from across the district enjoyed being taken on a mystical journey as the cast went on an adventure to help Santa Claus find his missing reindeer.

The hit show has resulted in pre-bookings for next year's Christmas performance at New City College

Phil Hall, deputy principal at New City College Epping Forest campus said: “Our students train in a modern working theatre and these live shows are a great opportunity for them to perform to a live audience.

“Performing five times in two days has given students a real insight as to what being in the industry is like. The response has been epic.”

Past student Michael Matias, who is currently studying at The Institute for Contemporary Theatre and helping out with the production said: “I had the best time on the course whilst at New City College, the teachers supported me to achieve my full potential.

“It has been an honour to come back to work with the new students and raise their aspirations for the future.”
