Detectives have formally identified the victim of a fatal stabbing in Walthamstow last week.
Michael Paul Baptista, 24, of Waltham Forest was stabbed to death on the evening of Thursday, December 19.
Police were called at 7.17pm to an altercation on Bromley Road.
Emergency services found Baptiste suffering stab injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination on Friday, December 20 gave cause of death as stab injuries.
Detective Inspector Joanna Yorke of Specialist Crime said: "I am grateful to members of the community who have come forward to assist our investigation into this murder, which is not being treated as gang-related.
“Specially trained officers are supporting Mr Baptista’s family.”
A 29-year old man charged with Mr Baptista's murder will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court later today (Monday, December 23).
