A specialist pet detective team have been drafted in to help find a missing cat.

Owner, Amanda Popoyans, suspects a hole was kicked in her garden fence allowing Zorg the cat to escape from her home in Queen Elizabeth Road, Walthamstow.

Amanda has called in Animal Search UK’s pet detective team to help search for the black cat.

She said: “Someone appears to have kicked a hole in my fence facing the street and Zorg must have gone out through there.

“He has never left the garden before as I have secure cat fencing all around and is not used to wandering, I’m really worried and just want Zorg back home”

Amanda says she is “desperately worried about her “beloved” Zorg.

East London and West Essex Guardian Series:

The pet detective team will use thermal imaging cameras to aid their search.

Lead investigator Andrew McNair said: “Most missing pets are found within a mile of home – the challenge is making sure that as many people as possible know the pet is missing and encourage everyone to be vigilant and to keep an eye out.”

The team will patrol the area, put up posters and hand out flyers to houses and businesses. They will also conduct a thorough search of the area using thermal imaging cameras.

Mr McNair added: “Work and family commitments often mean owners don’t have time to devote scouring the area looking for their missing pet, and this is why Animal Search UK is a huge help.”

“Visiting neighbours can also be daunting so the team have the expertise to search gardens, garages and outbuildings in order to conduct a thorough search. Our professional, uniformed specialist search teams can usually be at any location in the UK within 48 hours.”
