A police officer has been booted out of the force after being caught drink driving.
Police constable Nathan Mattison, of North-East Command Unit, was arrested for drink driving after failing a roadside breath test on March 7, 2019.
On March 22, PC Mattison was convicted of drink driving at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court and was disqualified from driving for 12 months, received a £100 fine, £85 court costs and £30 victim’s surcharge.
He was dismissed without notice after allegations of gross misconduct were proven at a misconduct hearing, held from December 11 – 13.
The panel found PC Mattison had breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘honesty and integrity' and 'discreditable conduct’.
He was dismissed without notice.
