A welfare animal charity has built a new home for pets while their owners are away on holiday.
The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) built the new cattery in its Watford branch located on Tylers Way.
It was able to build the new home after receiving a generous legacy donation left for it in a will.
The new boarding cattery will allow the charity to look after pets whose owners are away.
It has just received its business licence from Hertsmere Council and is now accepting animals.
This means the charity will now have a regular income which will help the upkeep of abandoned animals at the branch.

The charity has assured pet owners their animals will be in "safe and experienced hands" which will give them a peace of mind and will also support them and their work.
The charity relies heavily on donations as it receives no government funding to look after the animals.
NAWT volunteers look after various animals including cats, dogs, farm animals and other pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs who are all looking for a new home.
The charity also pays for medical checks and makes sure each animal is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
