Hospital staff were busy starting the new decade delivering eleven babies on New Year’s Day.
Dawn
One of the babies born at Watford General was Dawn O’Sullivan who arrived at 7.06am and weighed eight pounds and 11 ounces.
Dawn’s mother, Emma-Rose from Kings Langley who works in human resources described the moment she gave birth to Dawn as an “out of body experience”.
She has been married to her husband Dar, director of a structural engineering company, for more than a year.
The couple, who met in France, said they are first time parents and felt it was the right time to start a family.

Mrs O’Sullivan said: “We decided to call her Dawn because she was born at dawn and at the dawn of the new decade.
“In the future I just hope she’s happy.”
Charlotte
Miriam Simmons, from Abbots Langley gave birth to her daughter, Charlotte, at 5.39am weighing at eight pounds and 25 ounces.
The fraud investigator met her husband, David, who is a chef at a catering company, ten years ago and are both first time parents.
She said; “It’s going very well she just eats and eats. The first few days were but were getting there, there is more structure now.”

Leo
Ksenia Cheremnykh gave birth to her son, Leo Roman Brickwood at 11.10pm and he weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces.
The BBC media researcher and her husband Harry said they’ve been trying to have a child for four years said they hope “he grows up to be a kind and caring human being”.
Mr Brickwood continued: "He sleeps a lot during the day and keeps us up at night. We're enjoying it despite the sleepless nights."
