A man is due to go on trial accused of a machete attack on a police officer.
Muhammad Rodwan, 56, is accused of stabbing PC Stuart Outten, 29, in Leyton, in August last year.
Rodwan, from Luton, is due to go on trial at the Old Bailey before Mrs Justice Carr.
He is charged with attempted murder, and an alternative offence of wounding with intent between August 6 and 9 last year.
He is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon, namely a machete, on High Road, Leyton, on August 7 last year.

The case is being prosecuted by Jonathan Rees QC, with Michael Turner QC defending.
The trial is due to go on for up to two weeks.
