Kiko Femenia thinks Watford team-mate Gerard Deulofeu will be a "great loss" after his anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during their win over Liverpool at the weekend.

Speaking to Radio Marca in Spain, the full-back said the team are all really upset to be without the winger, who will be out for at least the remainder of the season if not longer, as he prepares to have surgery back in Catalonia.

“I’ve been talking to him. I think he’s going to Barcelona on Wednesday," said Femenia.

"I don’t know when his operation is. I think in a week or two. I hope everything goes really well. We’re really upset over this. We’re so sorry for him, but also, not being with him, not sharing the dressing room with him. He’s going to be a great loss for us”.

Femenia made his first appearance for the Hornets since New Year's Day in the 3-0 win over the league leaders and said there was no great secret to the victory.

He insisted it was just down to scoring the goals and not growing complacent.

"There is no secret, in this game we found the goals," he said.

"In the previous game against Liverpool we were not so lucky.

"We were winning 3-0, but there were still 18 minutes left until the final whistle and we couldn't write off Liverpool."
