A MAN who was hit by a car in Hadleigh on Monday is recovering well after his injuries were first considered to be life-threatening.

The man in his 60s was airlifted to hospital where he remains.

Thundersley resident, Roger Kingston, said: "Many of you, along with his family and friends will be happy to know that the pedestrian hit in Monday's Hadleigh incident is making very good progress in hospital at Whitechapel, taking notice and able to move his limbs.

"He is a member of our church, and our prayers are being answered hour by hour.

"Thanks God. We think and pray for the others involved."

A 78-year-old man was arrested following the crash at London Road, outside National Tyres, but was released without investigation.

The road was closed in both directions for a several hours and police remained at the scene.
