Four teenagers have been taken to hospital and seven arrested following a multiple stabbing in Walthamstow.
Yesterday evening, at about 9pm, police officers responded to reports of a group of youths fighting with weapons in Manston Court.
Met officers attend along with the London Ambulance Service; four males, aged between 15 and 16 were taken to hospital with stab injuries - none believed to be life-threatening.
A Met spokesperson said: “Seven arrests have been made in total for offences including violent disorder, affray, and possession of an offensive weapon. Officers remain at the scene and a crime scene is in place. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
A section 60 was put in place until 7am this morning – granting frontline officers the power to conduct stop and searches without establishing “reasonable grounds” – in the Walthamstow, Leyton and Leytonstone areas.
Last night Waltham Forest MPS moved to reassure the public, tweeting: “ This is an isolated incident and we don’t believe there is a risk to members of the public.
Detectives are urging any witnesses to contact 101 with information quoting reference CAD 7922/11MAR20.
