A man has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after self-presenting at a police station this morning.

Police were first alerted to a possible stabbing incident when large amounts of blood in Green Lane, Ilford, were reported to the force at about 5am this morning.

Following the discovery, a man in his 30s self-presented at Ilford police station suffering from stab wounds.

Police set up a cordon this morning, near the junction with Buckingham Road.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by LAS at 4.57am on Thursday, March 19 to reports of evidence of blood in the street at Green Lane, Ilford.

“Shortly after, a male, aged 30s, walked into Ilford police station suffering with stab wounds.

“The injured man, aged 30s, was taken by London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where his condition is not life threatening.

“At this early stage there have been no arrests.

“Enquiries continue.”
