A charity has said it will spend hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of funding on organisations facing uncertainty because of the coronavirus outbreak.
John Lyon's Charity, which operates in Barnet, says it has ring-fenced £500,000 for those companies facing "immediate pressure".
The funding is being co-ordinated by London Funders, which runs the London Community Response Fund.
John Lyon's Charity says it has pledged support for the response fund, which was created to support London’s civil society and cultural groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Lynne Guyton, CEO at John Lyon's Charity, has said the charity is committed to helping its grantees through "this unprecedented crisis".
She added: “To show our support, we at John Lyon’s Charity are ring-fencing £500,000 to assist groups whose delivery and very existence might be affected at this time.
"It is our mission to walk alongside our groups and help them through this difficult period in any way we can.”
The funding - announced earlier this week - follows more than 200 funders signing up to a statement to show their support for the sector at this time.
The statement, coordinated by London Funders, has signatories from across the UK.
