There are two empty private care homes in Forest Road, Walthamstow, and there may be many more in the borough. At a time when care home deaths are rising, isn’t it time these were requisitioned by the council, in order to bring them back into useful use?
And we need to have proper support for terminally ill people. Hospitals are not used to terminal care, being concerned with health. Hospices run on charitable donations, although Government does play a role, but not enough.
As of now private care homes are massively increasing fees for PPE that should be factored in. It may reduce profits, but what is worth more?
