Residents of Watford turned out onto their doorsteps yesterday to applaud the care and frontline heroes one final time as a nation.
Millions of people across the UK have come to to front of their homes for the last teen weeks at 8pm on a Thursday to take part in the Clap for Carers.
It has been a way of showing support for the nation's doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, carers, and other key workers who have been risking their own lives for others during the pandemic.
But organiser Annemarie Plas said last night's clap is likely to be the last, as "it is good to stop it at its peak".
The people of Watford have not been shy to show their support over the weeks and last night was no different.
Some applauded while others bashed pots and pans and some even performed music.
Police officers joined doctors and nurses at Watford General Hospital once more to mark the occasion.
