Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was shot.

Police and ambulance services were called to shots fired in Banbury Road, Walthamstow, at around 11.40pm on March 3, where a woman, 30, was found with gunshot injuries.

The woman was rushed to hospital and her condition was found to be on-life threatening.

It is believed the suspect – or possibly suspects – fired from the street through the front door, which struck the victim.

Today (June 9) the Met’s Violent Crime Taskforce arrested a man, 32, on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of ammunition and possession of class A and B drugs.

The arrested man was taken to an east London police station where he currently remains.

Police enquiries are continuing to discover more about the circumstances of the shooting.
