EMERGENCY services were called when a man fell over seafront railings.
The accident happened at Madeira Drive, Brighton, on Saturday evening.
It came hours after more than 10,000 people met on the road for the start of the Black Lives Matter march.
Police, ambulance and fire crews went on to the top of the terrace, which is closed to the public, with the use of an aerial ladder platform to treat the man.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports that a man had fallen off a ledge at about 6.30pm.
She said he was left in the care of medical staff.
