TWO more coronavirus deaths have been reported in Sussex.

One happened on June 21 in the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The other happened in the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust on June 19.

The total numbers of deaths at the trusts since the beginning of the outbreak are now 144 and 255 respectively.

The death toll at hospitals in Sussex now stands at 614.

Nationally, official statistics from the Department of Health and Social Care showed that there were 154 new deaths recorded as of 9am on Wednesday.

It means a total of 43,081 people have died with the virus since the crisis started earlier this year.

In total, 306,862 official confirmed cases of the disease have been recorded from testing, but now more than seven million tests have been carried out.

There have now been 488 confirmed cases in Brighton and Hove, one more than yesterday.

There have been 1,373 in West Sussex, four more than the previous day, and 77 in East Sussex, up one from the day before.
