NO one has tested positive for coronavirus in Brighton and Hove in the last 24 hours.

In total, there have been 489 confirmed cases in Brighton and Hove, the same as the day before.

There have been 1,377 in West Sussex, three more than the previous day, and 778 in East Sussex, one more than the day before.

Nationally, official statistics from the Department of Health and Social Care showed that there were 1,006 more confirmed cases yesterday.

The total number since the beginning of the outbreak is 309,360.

The Government department also announced there had been 186 further deaths.

This brings the national total to 43,414.

The death toll at hospitals in Sussex now stands at 614.

The latest death recorded in the county was on June 21 in the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The trust’s total number of deaths since the beginning of the outbreak is 144.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS trust has recorded 86, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 18, and Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 112.

The highest number of deaths have been recorded at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which has had 255.
