So many amazing community champions have come together to make our new North Weald 3food4u hub a wonderful success.

The food hub was launched on Thursday, August 27. Even the rain couldn't dampen our passion!

Earlier in the week on Monday we were overwhelmed at the response at our opening of our 3food4u community shop in Waltham Abbey.

Huge thanks to everyone involved, including Cllr Dawn Wood and North Weald Parish Council, it takes a massive effort to pull off not just one but two launches in a week, all by dedicated volunteers.

Our community hub in North Weald is every Thursday from 3pm to 5pm at Queens Hall Community Centre, School Green Lane, North Weald, CM16 6EJ.

This is in additional to our twice weekly Waltham Abbey sessions at our new venue at 13 Sun Street, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1ER, every Monday & Friday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

East London and West Essex Guardian Series:

Volunteer Christine Brooker

We are offering free food, home essentials, clothes, toys and more without assessment or referral to anyone that needs it. Treating people humanely with dignity and respect.

Our amazing friends at Grow Community Garden (Heidi Chow and volunteers) recently donated some delicious organic veg for our customers. They have transformed an area of scrubland into a fantastic community resource benefitting so many people and groups.

We were amazed by the generous donation of a huge number of face masks by Hazel Capal and her team of volunteers, who have been tirelessly producing thousands of scrubs and face coverings for NHS, key workers, schools, foodbanks, vulnerable families and more. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for the community.

East London and West Essex Guardian Series:

Yve Oronto Vidal

We were inspired by the Yve Ortonto-Vidal and The First Stop Project Loughton who visited our session on Monday with an amazing donation of essential food items and sanitary products. Yve is the EF Community Champion for Loughton. The project’s aim is to provide menstrual and sanitary hygiene products to organisations and settings who are working with, or who are in contact people in and out of education. It is a fantastic project, well done to all involved.
