A gang of teenage yobs tried to steal an electric scooter from a 49-year-old man earlier this week
The teens attempted to steal the scooter while the man was at a cashpoint outside NatWest in The Rows, Harlow, at about 3.40pm on Monday, October 19.
The victim was assaulted but the boys fled empty handed after a woman intervened.
Essex Police are looking to trace the brave bystander, who came out of ZamZam (a shop next to NatWest) and intervened between the group and the victim.
She was described as white, aged in her 20s, with blonde hair tied up in a bun. She wore black sports leggings, a black long sleeved top and grey trainers.
Detectives would also like to speak to anyone else who saw what happened but has yet to come forward.

Two boys aged 15 from Harlow and 17 from Hornchurch were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
A 15-year-old boy from Harlow was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
All three were released on conditional bail until November 14.
