DATA released by Public Health England shows there were 17 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Oswestry in the seven days up to Saturday, October 17.

The map, which details case numbers in Middle layer Super Output Areas (MSOA), showed there were seven cases confirmed in Oswestry West, and 10 in Oswestry East.

In Shropshire, the overall number of cases stood at 283, which was up by 12 from the previous seven-day period.

There were also seven cases confirmed in the area of Trefonen and Pant, while six were confirmed in Gobowen, St Martins and Weston Rhyn.

Three cases were confirmed in Ellesmere, while four were confirmed in the area of Baschurch, Cockshutt and Harmer Hill.

Fewer than three cases were reported in the area of Whittington.
