A second phase of Covid-19 recovery funding for non-profit groups is being prepared.

Redbridge Council will be distributing a further funding pot of £10,000 to non-profit groups, following the initial £10,000 Redbridge Social Action Fund over summer.

The fund means a maximum award of £1,000 will potentially be available to any single applicant.

Those who were successful in previous grant funds will not be disqualified to make further bids in this new phase of grants.

Any not-for-profit group or organisation is eligible to make an application so long as they meet the following criteria:

  • Your income in the last financial year (or average per annum in the previous three years) must not exceed £100,000 (successful applicants may be asked to evidence this ahead of funding being released)
  • All the funding applied for must deliver benefits within the London Borough of Redbridge.

The Leader of Redbridge Council, Councillor Jas Athwal, said: "We're delighted to be launching the next phase of this scheme. This will provide much-deserved and vital funding to local community groups going the extra mile to help those impacted by the pandemic.

“We've seen the very best of Redbridge this year, and this our way of giving something back to those who put have others before themselves. They thoroughly deserve recognition for the work they have done."

Applications will be assessed on a fortnightly basis. The first deadline is next Friday (November 27), and then fortnightly through to January 8.

Applications will be assessed by Council staff and recommendations made to the Cabinet Member for Transformation and Engagement to decide which applications will be granted.
