Hotel land next to a busy road has been sold.
The 16.5 acre site, which accommodates the Mercure London Watford Hotel by the A41 near the Hartspring roundabout, has been acquired by housebuilder Griggs Homes and property investment company First Urban.
In a tweet, Griggs Homes said it will “look forward” to working on “this exciting regeneration opportunity”.

The tweet read: “GRIGGS & @firsturbanuk are delighted to announce the acquisition of this 16.5 acre site which currently accommodates the Mercure London Watford Hotel. We look forward to working with the First Urban team on this exciting regeneration opportunity.”
Griggs Homes has told the Watford Observer that the acquisiton of the land is “all very early days for us at the moment” and has not commented.
