A property group has funded workbooks and laptops to help school children continue their education through the coronavirus pandemic.

SiteSales Property Group have started a sponsorship programme with Debden Park High School in Loughton with an initial investment of £3,000 to help fund all new workbooks for the Year 7 students, plus a contribution towards new laptops for the school.

Deputy head Gemma Haycock, said: “We are extremely grateful at the generosity of SiteSales for donating a reading book for every Year 7 student.

In addition, SiteSales has also provided laptops for our most vulnerable students to support home learning during these challenging times. This act of generosity has been an enormous support to the school and all those individual students who have benefitted from it.”

Pupils who have joined the school as Year 7 students have each received their very own welcome book. Transitioning to secondary school can feel challenging and the teachers at Debden Park High School have created the Year 7 student book to help make the move an exciting time for students.

Murray Smith, managing director of SiteSales, said: “We are pleased to assist a local school in ensuring this year’s badly effected students have every chance of realising their potential. Following on from our long history with Barnardo’s on a charitable and professional front, our Schools Initiative will go further in supporting our young people.”
