The scene at the top of this page is of rural Chingford in 1910 on Old Church Road looking north towards Church Hill.
Cherrydown Farm on the left dated back to at least 1594 and covered 126 acres of land.
It was one of the last farms to be demolished in 1930 to make way for Priory Avenue and Churchill Terrace.
Today the scene is of a London suburb.
