The view at the top of this page of St Mary's Church dates to around 1905.
Built in 1871 by Thomas Henry Watson in a gothic style, the church has a small bell tower and was much extended with more community facilities in the early 2000s
Loughton Post Office on the left moved to larger premises in Forest Road in 1908 to keep up with the growing demand, as the town continued to expand.
