I am very sad for our monarch and her family.
Prince Philip was a steadfast rock for so many years, supporting the Queen in her important national role.
As a local secondary school teacher I have personally seen how many youngsters here in Loughton and across Epping Forest have benefited and been challenged by the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme through expeditions and volunteering.
I have witnessed fears overcome, physical challenges achieved and community service completed all through this wonderful scheme set up by the Duke of Edinburgh many years ago and which continues to engage with new generations of young people in 2021.
