A Walthamstow pub hopes to welcome back some its regulars – and new customers – following a six-figure investment in its garden and interior.

With beer gardens reopening across the county on April 12 as the Government took the latest step in easing coronavirus restrictions, draught beers – albeit outdoors – are back on the menu.

And the Lord Palmerston in Forest Road is no exception, with manager James Mwansa unveiling the new garden last week.

The pub has also transformed its interior, however customers will have to wait until mid-May to experience that.

James said: “I am so excited by this transformation and am delighted to finally welcome customers into our brand-new garden this week. The Lord Palmerston is a fantastic pub in a great location and this refurbishment has injected a new lease of life into this venue.”

“Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers, whilst ensuring everyone is able to enjoy and make the most out of their long-awaited visit to our pub. We understand that while restrictions are lifting it is still important for our customers to feel safe and enjoy an environment where that is taken seriously, so we have taken every precaution in making our beer garden the place to be this spring and summer.”

Pub management say they are dedicated to upholding Covid-secure measures, including clear social distancing measures, enhanced cleaning regimes; full table service with contactless payment and test and trace to keep customers safe.
