Detectives have released images of members of the public who they believe may have witnessed a fatal stabbing Walthamstow.

Bubacar Jabbie Dukureh, who was known to his family as Bubacar Jabbie, was attacked and killed in Walthamstow, where he lived, on Friday, October 23 of last year.

The Met Police believes members of the public who were in the area may hold vital clues that could help the investigation into the killing of the 17-year-old.)

Officers were called at 9.20pm that night to Westbury Road after Bubacar Jabbie was found suffering from a stab injury. He was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard has released images of members of the public who they believe were in the area around the time of the killing.

Officers do not believe that the people pictured are involved in the attack but are appealing for them to come forward so they can speak with them and ascertain whether they have any information that could help the investigation.

Detective Inspector Necati Aytac said: "This was a senseless and violent death of yet another teenager on the streets of London.

“Our team has been working hard to establish the full circumstances around the incident but we need the public’s help.

“We are releasing images of people who we believe were in the area at the time of Bubacar’s death and want to speak to them to find out what they saw that night and to see if they hold key information relevant to the investigation.

“I want to stress that these people are not in trouble and we do not believe they are involved at all – we just want to talk with them as they may hold vital clues. We appreciate that they may not realise that they could hold information, so we really do want to speak to them."

He added: “Bubacar’s family have lost their boy and we want to do everything we can to find those responsible for his death. By speaking up you can help this family find a little peace and help us keep our communities and streets safer.”

In a statement Bubacar’s brothers and family said: “We still need justice for our lovely brother Bubacar Jabbie. He was a good brother who lost his life aged 17. Rest in peace.

“We are calling for people to speak out about anything they have heard or anything they have seen. If you are in the pictures, please come forward to help the investigation. Please, please we need your help. Many thanks.’’

Five teenagers have been charged with the murder of Bubacar Jabbie: Alfie Ferguson, 18, of Walthamstow; Kaiyan Decordova, 18, of Walthamstow; a 15-year-old from Leytonstone; and two 17 year olds from Walthamstow.
