A road has been shut since the morning after a man was hit by a car.
Police were called to Rangers Road in Loughton this morning (May 16) at around 11.05am, following reports that a pedestrian was hit by a silver BMW.
The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Rangers Road remains closed from the junction with Epping New Road, and anyone travelling in the area is advised to seek alternative routes.
A spokesperson from Essex Police has thanked members of the public who stopped to assist with first aid at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage prior to the incident is asked to contact Essex Police by calling 101, or emailing collisionappeal@essex.police.uk referencing the incident number 405 of Sunday May 16.
