A charming photo of Albert Corner, Chingford c1925 with a policeman directing traffic wearing white armbands, a rare sight today. A police box was installed at this junction in later years.
On the left can be seen Trant and Grundy, a well-known local hardware and grocery store. After the war it was replaced by a firm selling electrical goods.
How the same scene looks today
Mount Garage on the right eventually gave way to a succession of shoe shops for more than 70 years until 2021. Today it’s a bakery.
