Victoria buildings can be seen on the left and Pierce the Bakers on the right.

A market has existed here since 1253 and used to take place on a Friday.

How the old market place area looks today

Having cattle as well as geese and pigs at the market was important to the local economy, however the selling of livestock came to an end in 1961.
